Inclusive design: innovative lighting

Moving further into the concept of inclusive design, we can approach the problem of properly lighting a building and the way we interact with the lighting solutions within it.

Probably the first step that an architect should consider about lighting in a building is to have as much of it in its natural state as possible, by correctly orientating the building on site and by providing windows and opening in the favourable locations.

Then, the second step would be to properly light all the places where the sun cannot get in, and doing this in the most efficient way, both economically and functionally.

In this way, designers can think about the accessibility of fixtures, their orientation and the options created when the power runs out.

Here is a video on the most innovative solutions for lighting that the year 2015 presents.
