Built-in adaptability-a trait of sustainability

Standing at 525 ft tall, the "Walkie Talkie" has a top-heavy design that revolutionizes the trend of the traditional tapering skyscraper. The office building from London opened its doors to the Sky Garden with its cafe, restaurant and terrace in 2015. Hilson Moran specified a number of Legrand products to deliver a power distribution system that acts as the power and communications back-bone for the lighting infrastructure.

Legrand regional sales manager Mark Ellis: “Adaptability was a key factor in the specification process, and the current system allows the lighting control or the lights themselves to be plugged directly into the power system, along with anything else which needs to access power. The flexibility of the system enables the specifiers and designers working for the new tenants to treat the initial installation as a blank canvas which they can then customise to suit their clients' own individual needs, due to the plug-and-play nature of the system."
